ESTERO, FL – Florida Everblades President and General Manager Craig Brush along with Head Coach Brad Ralph announced Monday that Josh Robinson will join the team’s hockey operations department as goaltending coach.
Robinson, 27, joins the Everblades coaching staff after concluding a successful career as a goaltender in the ECHL and American Hockey League (AHL). Robinson amassed an 88-46-5-8 record, with seven shutouts, a 2.88 goals-against-average and a 0.915 save percentage in 150 ECHL games split between the Missouri Mavericks and Idaho Steelheads from 2012-2017.
“Josh played two seasons for me from 2012-14 as our number one goalie,” said Ralph. "He was a hard-working goaltender, intelligent, focused and technically sound. His attributes as a player will serve him well as he starts his career as a goaltending coach. We are looking forward to having Josh and his fiancé Rebekah join our family. Josh will be a huge asset to our program.”
Robinson shined during the 2015-16 season with Missouri, earning ECHL Goaltender of the Year honors after posting an impressive 28-2-1 record with a 1.88 goals-against-average and a .0.931 save percentage. Robinson set an ECHL record 21-game personal win streak during that season from November 4, 2015 through February 14, 2016.
The Frankenmuth, Michigan native has also appeared in 18 career AHL games split between the Texas Stars (2013-14) and Springfield Falcons (2015-16). In addition, Robinson played four seasons at Michigan Tech from 2008-2012.
