ESTERO, Fla. – In the wake of a strong 4-1 victory against the South Carolina Stingrays last night, the Florida Everblades put a plug on their three games in three days series with a matinee clash against the South Carolina Stingrays this afternoon. Puck drop for the Feb. 18 clash is set for 3:05 p.m. at the North Charleston Coliseum.
Game one of this series was won in big part due to the heroics of netminder David Tendeck. Making his first start since joining the Everblades, the North Vancouver native parried 39 of the 40 shots he saw. Tendeck was previously a member of the Idaho Steelheads and Wheeling Nailers this season.
Multiple Everblade skaters also had multi-point nights. Joe Pendenza ( 2 A), Oliver Chau (1 G, 3 A) and Luke Santerno (2 G, 1 A) led the way for Florida. Jack Adams scored South Carolina’s lone goal.
Sunday will be the final South Division game for the Everblades until March. Florida hosts the North Division’s Worcester Railers next week for three games at Hertz Arena. The Blades then return to Charleston for a three game series against the Stingrays on the first weekend of March.
