ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues and the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds, announced that the team has signed defenseman Connor Doherty to a standard player contract.
Doherty, 31, will be playing his eighth season in the ECHL in 2024-35, most recently spending three seasons with the Maine Mariners from 2021-22 through 2023-24. In 162 regular-season games with the Mariners, Doherty registered 46 points on seven goals and 39 assists. He appeared in 19 Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Maine, which qualified for the postseason each year that Doherty was with the club.
In addition, Doherty played three ECHL seasons with the Worcester Railers and Kansas City Mavericks. Over seven total ECHL campaigns, Doherty has 80 total points on 11 goals and 69 helpers across 369 combined regular-season and playoff contests.
Before turning pro, the Holden, Mass. native played three seasons of collegiate hockey with Sacred Heart University of Atlantic Hockey, recording 21 total points on seven goals and 14 assists. He played junior hockey with the Boston Junior Bruins.
