DULUTH, GA. – Fresh off a 1-0 shutout against the Orlando Solar Bears on Monday night, the Florida Everblades are set to continue their road trip in Duluth, Georgia against the Atlanta Gladiators this morning, November 14 at 10:30 a.m.
Despite losing the first of three games against Orlando, the Blades ended the series with two wins under their belt and momentum in a single-game faceoff against Atlanta.
In their last game, both teams went scoreless through the opening frame. This changed when newly signed Tyler Kobryn netted the first and only goal of the night, ending the Blades’ time in Central Florida on a win. The Blades’ defense stood strong on the blue line, limiting offensive efforts to keep Orlando at a standstill and giving Goaltender Cam Johnson space to turn away all 17 shot attempts to record his first shutout of the season.
Florida saw a dominant 6-0 victory over Atlanta in their last meeting on October 30, marking their highest-scoring game of the 2024-25 season thus far. Jesse Lansdell tallied two goals and an assist with Logan Lambdin, Colton Hargrove, and Kris Myllari each contributing one. Goaltender Will Cranley took the spotlight making 25 saves to earn his first career professional shutout in his debut game as an Everblade.
This season, Atlanta currently sits at 26th in overall team standings, ranking 16th in penalty killing and 26th on the power play, while the Blades are currently ranked 18th in penalty killing, 24th on the power play and fifth overall.
As the Blades gear up in Atlanta, they look to extend their win streak by building on their established momentum from a 2-1 series win against Orlando. This push will set the tone for back-to-back matchups on the road against the Greenville Swamp Rabbits this Saturday, November 16 at 4:05 p.m. and this Sunday, November 17 at 3:05 p.m.
