ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades will look to build on their solid 3-1 road trip as they return to The Swamp to kick off a three-game series against the Kalamazoo Wings tonight, November 20, at 7:30 p.m.
The first period remained scoreless in the Blades' last contest with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits trailing in shots 16-13. This changed in the second period as Greenville delivered two consecutive goals past goaltender Will Cranley to set the tone for the remainder of the period.
In the final frame, the Swamp Rabbits extended their lead while limiting the Blades to mere shot attempts. The Blades suffered a 3-0 third-period deficit until Ben Brar notched his first ECHL goal and the Blades’ first goal of the night to start gaining momentum at the 10:07 mark. This was matched by Colin Theisen's team-leading sixth goal of the season to pull Florida within one with just four minutes until the final whistle.
Despite outshooting Greenville 49-29 by the end of the contest, the Blades couldn't find the equalizer and fell to the Swamp Rabbits, ending their chances at a flawless road trip ahead of three back-to-back games at home.
