ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades will face off against the Orlando Solar Bears tonight, Monday, December 30 at 7:30 p.m., to finish off the three-game series, counting as their final contest before the start of 2025.
The Blades secured their second consecutive win over the Orlando Solar Bears on Saturday night, marking their fifth victory in seven matchups against Orlando this season. Early goals from Craig Needham and Colin Theisen put Florida in the driver’s seat, with additional tallies from Isaac Nurse and Ben Brar sealing the 4-2 win.
Both Nurse and Brar recorded two-point performances, marking their first multi-point games of the season. Cam Johnson made 22 saves to earn his 16th win of the year.
Needham’s goal, just 11 seconds into the game, was the fastest of the season for the Blades, with Gary Haden earning the assist in his first game back since early November, marking his second point of the season.
Aaron Luchuk and Jack Adams were the only goalscorers on the opposite side of the ice, continuing their role as point leaders, Luchuk with 25 and Adams at 21.
The Bears entered the series on a two-game win streak over the Savannah Ghost Pirates and South Carolina Stingrays, while the Blades were coming off a loss to the Stingrays. However, Florida flipped the script and now holds the two-game streak over the Solar Bears.
