ESTERO, Fla. –The Florida Everblades, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s St. Louis Blues and the AHL’s Springfield Thunderbirds, announced that defenseman Kris Myllari has been traded to the Orlando Solar Bears in exchange for forward Darik Angeli. Additionally, Angeli has been traded to the Utah Grizzlies to satisfy a future considerations agreement involving Kyle Betts.
Myllari, 27, a native of Kanata, Ontario, appeared in 10 contests on behalf of the Blades recording one goal and four assists for five points following four consecutive seasons with the ECHL’s Allen Americans where he tallied 110 points in 232 contests. He also played in 26 postseason games, adding four goals matched by five assists to his record. Prior to turning pro, Myallari played collegiate hockey at Penn State University from 2016 to 2020 where he generated 19 goals and 43 assists in 149 games.
Angeli, 34, a native of Lakewood, Colorado, has appeared in almost 500 regular-season games across 10 seasons with 11 different ECHL teams amassing 336 total points. A key contributor during the 2021-22 season, Angeli led the Kansas City Mavericks in scoring with 65 points and helped the Everblades capture the Kelly Cup in the same season. He also skated in 15 AHL games belonging to the Portland Pirates, the Manitoba Moose and the Tucson Roadrunners registering a combined four points. A product of Ohio State University, Angeli tallied 45 points in 128 NCAA games from 2011-15.
Betts, 27, a native of Flesherton, Ontario, wearing number 26, has appeared in 18 regular-season contests since joining the Blades for the first time this season. Launching his professional career in Utah during the 2021-22 season, Betts recorded one goal and one assist in five regular season contests before transitioning between leagues to tally seven goals and 16 assists for 23 points over four consecutive seasons. Betts spent five seasons playing Junior hockey for the Grey-Bruce Highlanders, the Waterloo Siskins and the Powell River Kings before playing four years of collegiate hockey at Cornell University, amassing 17 goals and 31 assists across 125 NCAA contests.
