ESTERO, Fla. – After a 4-game road trip that saw them finish 2-1-1-0, the Florida Everblades return to The Swamp tonight to take on the Savannah Ghost Pirates for the first time this season. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. for what marks their second three-game series in just two weeks.

The Other Side: The Savannah Ghost Pirates, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers, currently rank 16th in the league standings with a record of 18-14-2-0 following their victory over the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. Former Everblade Dennis Cesana leads Savanah leads the team with 35 points from 11 goals and 24 assists, while forward Reece Vitelli trails by just four points, sitting at 31 from 8 goals and 23 assists. The Ghost Pirates have 113 goals against, earned two overtime wins, suffered two overtime losses and carry a 52.90 win percentage.

Last Time Out: The Blades made a statement in Idaho Central Arena last Saturday after scoring six goals, five of which went unanswered to seal the deal in a series that ended in a 6-1 victory in favor of the Southwest Florida group. Carson Gicewicz, who leads the team with 29 points, got things started at 5:03 of the first period, giving the Blades an early lead. However, Idaho quickly responded to tie the game at 1-1 before the first intermission. The Blades regained control just 1:24 into the second when Gicewicz struck again, with Alex Kile assisting on both of his goals. From there, the offense exploded, as Craig Needham, Tarun Fizer, Jordan Sambrook, and Cole Moberg each scored, contributing to a relentless four-goal run that stretched into the third period.

First Points & Double the Impact: Returning defenseman Cole Moberg made a strong impact Saturday night, notching his first points of the 2024-25 season in a 6-1 victory. After being on injured reserve since the start of the season, Moberg set up Tarun Fizer’s first-ever Everblades goal, sliding a pass along the boards to Jesse Lansdell, who found Fizer in the slot for a wrist shot. Moberg didn’t stop there, doubling his tally with the game’s final goal, tying defenseman Santiago Centorame with two points on the season. As the Blades head into tonight’s matchup against Savannah, Moberg will look to continue his momentum in his fourth game of the season.

The Swamp is Ours!: The Blades have played 15 games in The Swamp, winning 12 and losing three. Two of the losses came against the Orlando Solar Bears, with one to the South Carolina Stingrays. Of the 12 victories, two were shutouts—one by Will Cranley and the other by Cam Johnson. Currently, the Blades are on a four-game home winning streak and remain undefeated at home against the Atlanta Gladiators, Jacksonville Icemen and the Kalamazoo Wings.
