BLADES LOOK TO EXTEND STREAK IN ORLANDO

ORLANDO, Fla. – Following a dominant 6-2 win over the Jacksonville Icemen last night, the Florida Everblades are back in action tonight, Saturday, January 4 at 7:00 p.m., in Orlando's Kia Center, looking to extend their four-game win streak against the Solar Bears.

Despite falling behind on the scoreboard early, the Blades exploded in the third period, scoring four unanswered goals. Six different players recorded multi-point performances, with Colton Hargrove leading the charge. He tallied two goals and two assists for a four-point night, moving within one point of Carson Gicewicz, who leads the team with 26 points.

Isaac Nurse, Jordan Sambrook, and Logan Lambdin all head into tonight’s matchup fresh off multi-point performances, each recording two assists in last night’s game. Marc-André Gaudet and Alex Kile both had a goal and an assist, while Gary Haden, Colin Theisen and Anton Malmstrom each contributed a point—Haden with a goal and Theisen and Malmstrom with assists.

Operating like a well-oiled machine, forwards Colin Theisen, Isaac Nurse and Alex Kile are all riding point streaks, with defenseman Marc-André Gaudet joining them on the back end.

On the flip side in Florida, the Bears endured a 5-2 loss to the Greenville Swamp Rabbits, echoing a similar outcome to the Icemen’s game the night before.

Spencer Kersten and Aaron Luchuk each found the back of the net, with the two also assisting on one another’s goals. The pair continues to lead the Bears in points, with Luchuk sitting at 13 goals and 15 assists for 28 points, while Kersten follows closely behind with 10 goals and 17 assists for 27 points.

The last time these two teams met was this past Monday, where the game was a much closer affair, but the Blades ultimately came out on top in overtime. As a result, the Blades are now riding a four-game win streak, while the Bears find themselves on a four-game losing skid.
