ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades have agreed to terms with defenseman Kurtis Henry on a standard player contract.
Henry, 24, joins the Everblades from the University of Prince Edward Island in Canada’s USports league. The Niagara Falls, Ontario native has his most productive collegiate season this year, with 26 points (three goals, 23 assists) in 27 games this year. His 26 points ranked second on the team. Overall, the left-shot blueliner tallied 13 goals and 60 assists for 73 points over 106 games. He also won a gold medal at the FISU World University Games in Torino this year representing Canada.
Before college, Henry played three seasons of junior hockey with the Ontario Hockey League’s Erie Otters. The 6’ 2” 203 pound defender totalled 15 goals and 32 assists for 47 points in 174 games.
