ESTERO, Fla. – After a second-straight one-sided win on Friday night, the Florida Everblades are on the doorstep of a three-game series sweep of the Indy Fuel. Following a 6-3 victory on Wednesday and a 7-3 triumph on Friday, the Blades need one more win on Saturday to close out a perfect road trip to the Hoosier State.

With 13 goals against the Fuel in the past two games, the Everblades have matched their highest goal total in back-to-back games this season. Back on November 14, Florida hung a 5-2 victory on host Atlanta, while shellacking Greenville 8-0 on the road two nights later.

The Everblades enter Saturday night’s game riding a four-game winning streak, completely erasing the three-game skid – which included two overtime setbacks – that started February on a sour note.

In the first two games of the Indy series, the Blades have outscored the Fuel 13-6, with Tarun Fizer scoring two goals in back-to-back contests to lead the way. Colin Theisen has two goals, while seven other Everblades have one goal apiece in the series.  A whopping 18 different Everblades have registered at least one point versus Indy, with a cool dozen having multiple points.

With 72 points in the league standings, the Everblades (33-9-5-1) are the only ECHL team to have eclipsed the 70-point milestone so far. Florida has opened up an 11-point lead over South Carolina and Jacksonville in the South Division standings.
