ESTERO, Fla. – One night after knotting the current three-game series against the Norfolk Admirals with a 5-3 victory on enemy ice, the Florida Everblades will seek to win the rubber game of the series Saturday night at the Norfolk Scope.

Following a 4-1 setback to the Admirals in Wednesday’s series opener, the Everblades responded with a solid performance on both ends of the ice in Friday night’s win. Five different Blades scored goals and six other skaters logged an assist in the victory, as Florida received contributions from up and down the lineup.

On Friday, Alex Kile struck first late in the opening period, but second-period markers from Oliver Chau and Tarun Fizer snapped a 1-1 tie to give the Blades a lead that would hold up for the remainder of the contest. A timely empty-net goal by Isaac Nurse in the game’s final minute and another empty-netter by Conor Doherty in the match’s closing seconds sealed the 5-3 win.

With five goals in Friday’s win, Florida registered the team’s highest scoring total since putting up six and seven goals in back-to-back games at Indy on February 12 and 14.

Entering Saturday’s series-deciding game, Chau leads the Everblades with two goals in the series, while his two points matches Kile and Fizer for the team lead. in the first two games versus Norfolk, 11 different Everblades have registered points.

Friday night’s bounce back victory over the Everblades’ former South Division rival improved Florida’s all-time record versus the Admirals to 24-5-4.

The Everblades will return to The Swamp for a pair of games versus the Savannah Ghost Pirates on Wednesday, March 12 and Friday, March 14. Visit floridaeverblades.com for more information and to purchase tickets.
