ESTERO, Fla. – The Florida Everblades are looking to sweep the Jacksonville Icemen in Game Four of the South Division Semifinals on Thursday, April 24 at 7:00 p.m.
Florida leads the series 3-0 after another overtime win in Game Three last night. Anton Malmström’s long shot arced in from the blue line to end the night with a 2-1 OT win for the Everblades. All three games in this series have ended in overtime, with Florida coming out on the right side of all of them.
In each of the last three postseasons, Florida has been poised to sweep one opponent. In the second round in 2022, Florida successfully eliminated Jacksonville in four games, but in the second round the next season, the Everblades were forced to six games by Jacksonville before they could get things done. Last season, Florida lost game four in the second round to the Orlando Solar Bears before finishing them off in Game Five.
The Everblades went 0/2 on the power play while Jacksonville finished 0/5 on the man advantage yesterday, including being stymied on a 1:46 five-on-three. Game Three was the first game in the series without a special teams goal.
