WILL CRANLEY, TARUN FIZER ASSIGNED TO FLORIDA

ESTERO, Fla. – The St. Louis Blues, NHL affiliate of the Florida Everblades, have reassigned goaltender Will Cranley to the Everblades. Also, the Springfield Thunderbirds, Florida’s AHL affiliate, assigned forward Tarun Fizer to Florida ahead of the South Division Finals.

Cranley, 23, compiled an 11-9-3-0 record in 23 games with Florida this season. The Peterborough, ON native has a 2.71 goals-against average and .896 save percentage this season, along with two assists and a goalie fight. The left-catching netminder has also played two AHL games with the Springfield Thunderbirds this season, with a 0-1-0-0 record there with a 4.91 GAA and .867 SP.

Cranley is in the final year of his entry level contract with the Blues. St. Louis selected Cranley in the sixth round (163^rd overall) of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft from the Ontario Hockey League’s Ottawa 67’s.

Fizer, 24, re-joins the Everblades after the Thunderbirds were eliminated by the Providence Bruins in the Calder Cup playoffs. The Chestermere, Alberta local got one goal and two assists in 13 games in the regular season with Springfield and did not play in any playoff games with them. With Florida, the right-shot forward got 13 goals and eight assists in 30 games. Fizer has six goals and 12 assists in 24 playoff games in his ECHL career, all with the Utah Grizzlies.

Florida also released goaltender Mathieu Caron from his ATO. The Boston University alum backed up Cam Johnson for the opening round of this year’s Kelly Cup Playoffs.
